Mr. Kreider,

I am almost finished with your book. It is the most directly informative book on interviewing and preparation that I have read . . .

Paul,

I have been meaning to sit down and send you a message, but I'm still being called for second interviews. I had the opportunity to interview with 13 companies 4-7 August 1998, of which 12 have called me back for second interviews, and 6 of those have made me offers. Your book prepared me totally for those interviews. This was my very first time interviewing, and I had several people to ask who was my coach. That $20.00 investment will be worth a minimum of 53K/year, which amounts to a 10K raise for me. Thanks for your help.

Dear KCE Books,

I received the book on Monday afternoon--much quicker than I had imagined. I want to thank you for your terrific service. Moreover, I want to express how much I enjoyed reading your book . . . I only hope I am capable of carrying out a fraction of all the great advice provided.

Mr. Kreider,

I wanted to let you know how informative and useful I found your book to be. I had just finished reading it in the field during a gunnery exercise when a company call me after seeing my resume on the Internet. I used the techniques in the book from the first phone call, had two phone interviews, flew to their headquarters twice for follow up interviews, and within a month of my first interview ever, I had an offer for a $70k job in a great location doing great work. The money I spent on your book is the best investment I've ever made. It allowed me to make what I think is the best transition from the military I could have made, and with a $25k raise included!

Thanks again,

Paul;

You probably receive thousands of e-mails about The Interviewing Handbook for Military Officers, however I wanted to express my thanks for a superb book about interviewing. When I seperated from the Air Force in 1992, I had no concept about how to interview, let alone search for a job. When your book was introduced to me I read it from cover to cover and it made a transforming difference in not only my interviewing skills but my confidence to land a job. I sent out one resume, interviewed, and got a job offer, which I accepted. Talk about the golden bullet! I just placed an order for another book (I loaned the book and was never returned), because, again, I am with out a job (plant closed). Again, thank you for the one of the best books I have ever read.

I am looking for a copy of the Interviewing Handbook for College Graduates. I have a 1991 copy of The Interviewing Handbook for Military Leaders and now have kids in college who could benefit from Kreider's straight forward advice.

Can you send me a complete catalog of your books?

Thanks,

Interviewing Handbook for Military Leaders,

March 19, 2000

Paul Kreider's handbook is an absolute MUST READ for any military officer considering leaving the service. Nowhere else will you find a book that can bring you up-to-date on interviewing strategies in Corporate America quickly. Paul Kreider takes you step-by-step through the interviewing process and provides you with proven tools for obtaining the job offer you want. Roger Cameron's book is NOT nearly as informative, insightful, and fun to read as the Interviewing Handbook for Military Readers!

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST interview tool available for the military officer!, August 11, 1998

This book is a MUST READ for any transitioning military officer planning for an interview in the civilian workplace. Mr. Kreider guides you through the entire process, from detailed self analysis exercises, through translation of military experience to civilian qualifications, to ways to handle the tricky questions. This book, together with What Color is My Parachute, should be dog-eared from use by the time that first interview comes around. I received numerous compliments from employers on my preparation for interviews, and specifically on how I answered the questions they asked--I gave them the information they were looking for, not just the answer to the question--Thanks to this book. Without a doubt the best $$ I've spent since I decided to leave the military.

This was a great book. It was practical and down to earth. Paul Kreider is straight forward without the attitude and condescending tone that Roger Cameron takes in his book. He also avoids the ridiculous and dated advice that Roger dispenses. This is the only book you need for your job search.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for., January 4, 2001

This book answers all the questions you have and provides you the right ones to prepare for. Even if you think you have the common sense necessary to breeze through an interview...you don't. Paul Kreider tells you why, why not, and how to fix it. Best of all, he does it in a manner that is lighthearted, fun, and easy to read. At this point in time, I am excited to interview and use the skills he has so recently helped me develop. Having read this book, I honestly feel as though I will come out head and shoulders above candidates who have not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Interview Book For JMO's, March 29, 2001

I read many books and attended too many seminars on job interviewing during my transition from the military. This book is by far the best. It is straight and to the point and tells you exactly what to do. Kreider covers every aspect of interviewing, as well as everything from resume writing to negotiating salary and signing the deal. The Handbook is well organized with chapters on each subject, so you can skip subjects not pertinent to you. All in all, this a great book and a must read for all military leaders transitioning to the civilian life. It is worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Prep Book for JMOs leaving the service, November 19, 2002
By  Todd Justman "audio book reader" (Charlotte, NC United States) -

If there is any consistency among headhunters specializing in placing junior military officers (JMOs) it is the recommendation to buy this book. Kreider writes in a tone appropriate to a ground-pounder who wants to make the break from Uncle Sugar and get a job. The book reads well non-sequentially, so you can go to the chapter dealing with your issue. Further, chapters are short, quick reads with no B.S. This book even chastises you in chapter 9! (I won't give away the surprise.)
Kreider seems like a good guy - I ordered his book direct in 1998 and my order was lost. When I chased it down he sent me my copy gratis.
In this crappy economy I've returned to this book and it's been wonderful!
